In a new highly complex logistics operation, Ian Taylor, part of the Empresas Taylor, agency  and co-ordinated the discharge from a BBC Chartering vessel of a 364 tonne industrial furnace at the port of Quintero, consolidating its expertise in handling oversized and high tonnage cargoes.

The discharge included 18 oversized pieces, which arrived on board a second vessel consigned to Ian Taylor this year at Asimar’s facilities. The operation was carefully planned and executed with the use of specialised on-board cranes, due to the size and weight of the equipment.

“This type of cargo requires detailed planning and precise execution. We coordinated all the necessary services to achieve a safe operation, meeting the highest industry standards,” said Alvaro Guajardo, Vessel Operations Coordinator for Ian Taylor.

This industrial furnace will be destined for an important energy project in the central part of the country and represents a key part of its development. The unloading marks a new milestone in Ian Taylor’s commitment to high level port logistics, providing integral solutions in the transportation of project cargo and industrial equipment.
