More than 100,000 containers technologically released adds up to award-winning Ian Taylor Portal

An important milestone was reached by the Container Release Portal of Ian Taylor, a subsidiary of Empresas Taylor: the digital logistics solution of high operational efficiency and excellent quality through which Consignees, Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders can carry out documentary and cargo release procedures, exceeded 100,000 containers released through its Portal.

In total, more than 400,000 operations have been carried out through the Container Release Portal, 526 different companies have released their containers through this technological solution and 1,235 users have accessed its many benefits.

Philipp von Meyenn, CEO of Empresas Taylor, states that “we are very happy and satisfied with the great acceptance of the Ian Taylor Container Release Portal, where our customers have been able to see the enormous ease with which they can now make their container release procedures, a technological solution on which our team has been working intensively for some years now, with great results that can be seen. All of this goes hand in hand with the decision of the Taylor Business Directory to promote digital services and the digitisation of the document and logistics agency business”.

Among the attributes highlighted by those who have used the Portal, the ease of making payments and the corresponding procedures, which previously had to be done in person and with several visits to the corresponding offices in order to release the containers, are mentioned. Now, however, everything can be done in just 10 minutes and at any time, saving time, money and paper, where, for example, cargo can be released online from Arica in San Antonio.

The Container Release Portal has three main areas of online services, such as the Collection Service, the Guarantee Service and the Documentation Service, which conveniently, quickly and securely allow all the necessary steps to release a container to be taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Through the Collection Service, the customer can pay online for services such as freight, local services and gate in.

In the Guarantee Service, a container can be guaranteed through the purchase of an insurance policy (with HDI insurance), the purchase of self-insurance from the shipping company or through the receipt of a global letter of guarantee.

The Documentation Service allows the customer to register a mandate, print a BL, correct a BL, enter a letter of responsibility, change warehouse and exchange a BL.

In addition, world-class digital tools have been implemented on the portal to support the management of the container release portal users, most notably Salesforce, an integrated global Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform, which enables a case management system that allows Ian Taylor’s team to have complete and up-to-date visibility of the needs of each customer using the portal and to resolve them in an efficient and timely manner.

It should be noted that the Container Release Portal was awarded in the “Seatrade Awards 2021, in association with Lloyd’s List”, where Empresas Taylor was the only Latin American company nominated among the finalists, finally being among the first three places in the Port & Terminal Digital Technology Award category, which recognises the development and/or application of port and maritime technological innovations that support specific objectives.

It also received the Shared Value Award 2021 from the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Valparaiso (CRCP) in the category Innovation in products and services.
