Ian Taylor agencies vessel in Talcahuano to ship over 2,000 heifers to Malaysia

Ian Taylor managed the Livestock Carrier ‘Girolando Express’, which arrived at the port of Talcahuano to ship 2,500 heifers to Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. This operation, the first of its kind in the region so far in 2025, moved cattle from farms located in Linares and Villarrica to the port, where the vessel operated for six shifts at site 1 of Talcahuano Terminal Portuario. During the first two shifts, the shipment of feed for the animals and sawdust for the holds was carried out, ensuring the welfare of the heifers during the long journey. Subsequently, the loading of the animals and other equipment required for the journey was completed.

The Ian Taylor Talcahuano team managed a number of services essential to the success of the operation, including the delivery of drinking water, the dispatch of materials overseas, the delivery of spare parts (AWB) and the shipment of fuel samples for laboratory analysis. In addition, the pilot boat ‘Taylor Calafquén’ actively participated in the docking, undocking and anchoring manoeuvres, as well as in the inspection of the authorities for the reception in port.

Sebastian Schilling, Agency Coordinator at Ian Taylor Talcahuano, highlighted the team’s commitment to this operation: ‘We are very proud to have led the agency of such a large and complex operation. The success of this shipment reflects the dedication of our team and the ability to coordinate key services that ensure safety and efficiency at every stage of the process. Our main objective is to continue to consolidate our leadership in maritime agency in the region’.
